This chapter explains some of the common tasks involved in administering a SQL-NS instance in a production environment. Administration tasks typically fall into two buckets: monitoring and maintenance. Monitoring tasks involve checking the instance periodically to verify that it is running as you expect. SQL-NS provides a number of facilities that you can use to monitor a running instance, including event logs, performance counters, and reports.
