What’s New in Security and User Administration

Several new security enhancements have been added to SQL Server 2012 to help make it more secure than any prior version. These enhancements build upon the myriad of security-related changes made in the two prior versions and follow the policy of “least privileges” that Microsoft has been pushing. Several of these new changes follow:

Image New Permissions—There are 19 new permissions available in SQL Server 2012. These permissions are generally geared toward new features that were added in SQL Server 2012, such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, server roles, and the sequence object.
