Start a Reporting Services project

Start the Business Intelligence Development Studio application. On the File menu, select New and then select Project. In the New Project dialog box, select Business Intelligence Projects under Project types and then select Report Server Project under Templates. Enter an appropriate name and location for the project and click OK to create the project.

Add a report to your project

In Solution Explorer, right-click the Reports folder and select Add and then select New Item. In the Add New Item dialog box, select the Report item and enter an appropriate name for it, preserving the .rdl extension. Click Add to add the report to your project.
