Open Report Builder 2.0

Click Start, select All Programs and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Report Builder 2.0, and select Report Builder 2.0.

Add a data source

In the Report Data pane, click New, select Data Source, type a name for the data source, select a connection type, and type a connection string, or use the Build button to access the Connection Properties dialog box to build a connection string by using a GUI.

Add a dataset

In the Report Data pane, click New, select Dataset, type a name for the dataset, and type a query string or click Import to import a query stored in an SQL script file.
