Working with Parameters

By using parameters, you can add flexibility to your reports. A common way to use a parameter is to prompt the user for input. For instance, you can use the input value to change the behavior of the report by using it in an expression, as you learned in Chapter 5. Another way to use a parameter is to filter the contents of a report. In this case, you can use the input value either as a filter on a data region or as a query parameter to limit the data retrieved by a dataset.
