Preparing to Create a Cube
In this chapter, you’ll use cube and dimension wizards to create a new cube. Creating a cube by using the wizards is remarkably quick, but before you begin you need to make a few preparations.
Review the Data Warehouse Structure
The cube you’ll create in this chapter is based on a simple Microsoft Access warehouse database supplied on this book’s companion CD. The database file (Chapter2.mdb) is an extremely simplified version of the FoodMart 2000 database. The sample Chapter2 warehouse database is small enough that you should be able to clearly understand its structure, but it illustrates the basic dimension types described in Chapter 1.
