Agents
Agents are installed on each managed system to provide efficient monitoring of local components. Almost all communication is initiated from the agent with the exception of the actual agent installation and specific tasks run from the Operations Console. Agentless monitoring is also available with a reduction of functionality and environmental scalability.
The Windows agent natively supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems (x86, x64, IA64). The Windows agent supports the following operating systems:
• Windows Server 2003 SP2
• Windows Server 2008 SP2
• Windows Server 2008 R2
• Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
• Windows XP Professional x64 SP2
• Windows XP Professional SP3
• Windows Vista SP2
• Windows 7
