With the second version (4.0) of Entity Framework, it’s apparent that Microsoft listened to and implemented many developer community requests. In the future, we will certainly see the Framework add great features that will make it even easier to create professional-quality databases. But there’s still work to be done, particularly when working with extremely large databases. For example, the option of distributing a large entity model over multiple files or views to make it easier to handle when working as a team still needs improvement, as does check-in and check-out with Team Foundation Server or other systems that include source code version control and collaborative features.
