Chapter 18. Working Remotely
Windows XP gives you several ways to connect to a computer remotely. If you’re a business traveler on the road or a late sleeper working from home, for example, you can dial in from your laptop or home PC (the local computer) to the unattended, distant machine (the remote computer or host computer) in your office to access its files and resources. In this chapter, you’ll learn three preferred remote-access techniques:
Traditional direct dialing connects to a faraway PC via phone lines, probably racking up monstrous toll charges.
