Taking a First Look at the Windows XP Desktop

The first thing that probably comes to mind when you think about your current Desktop is all those icons! Each new program you install is placed on the Desktop (although some applications are polite enough to ask if you want that done). You can also create your own icons. Eventually, the Desktop can become so crowded with icons that it is harder to find a program by looking on the Desktop than by simply using the Start menu.
