As an ac (RF) signal is superimposed on dc signal, whenever oscillations
from this diode start most of the power gets reected due to SC at operating
frequency. This reected power will get added to RF signal resulting in its
enhancement. Thus, the total enhanced voltage across diode is the sum of
RF signal and dc bias voltage. If this increased voltage exceeds the threshold
voltage avalanche process begins. There is transition of more electrons and
