Microwave Integrated Circuits
16.1 Introduction
Microwave integrated circuit (MIC) technology is an extension of integrated
circuit (IC) technology to UHF and microwave range. Microwave assemblies
form the major part of MIC technology. These assemblies greatly vary in
complexity and may be of monolithic or hybrid nature. The MIC technology
mainly encompasses (i) planar transmission lines and coplanar microstrip
lines, (ii) photolithography and thin-lm techniques and (iii) microwave
semiconductor (SC) devices.
