6.9.1 Entry on Smith Chart
While dealing with the problem of short-circuited stub, entry on the Smith
chart is to be made at the short circuit point. Thereafter, clockwise movement
towards the generator is to be made on the rim of the chart. The angular
distance to be moved has to correspond to the length of the stub so as to
arrive at its other end. Further, the angular distance to be moved has to be
in accordance with the requirement of the reactive element to be introduced.
To remain conned to the inductive region, this movement has to be less
