Working with MongoDB in the Azure portal

Find your Cosmos DB account in the portal. Two menu items are pretty useful when working with Cosmos DB, which are quick start and data explorer. The quick start menu item often lists some code that helps you get started with connecting from C#. Data explorer, as the name implies, allows you to see and edit your data. MongoDB stores its documents in BSON format, or Binary JSON. Luckily, we get to see regular JSON instead of the binary variant. Fortunately, I still have the companies and salesOrders example, so we can see how data is stored:
