Perimeter and physical security is not normally a concern of IT security professionals. If it doesn’t involve bits and bytes, packets, and encryption, then we don’t usually have much to do with it. However, like the environmental security controls we discussed in the previous module, physical security is important, because it not only helps protect our data, systems, and networks, but it also provides for personnel safety.
