From external appearances, ground warfare may appear much the same as it has for several years, if not several decades. Tanks still look much the same from the outside, and soldiers’ basic equipment has changed little in 50 years. Upon closer inspection, though, we find that the tanks and armored vehicles of the allied forces are well equipped for modern warfare and that our soldiers are starting to gain equipment that provides them with an increasingly better level of situational awareness and faster, more powerful, network-centric capabilities for command and control.
