Overview
If we are looking to take a deeper dive for the purpose of understanding and analyzing why we do the things we do, what factors cause us to react and respond in certain ways, or how we can engage with the world while recognizing unconscious biases, then we will require consistency and commitment. It's important to understand that progress isn't always perceivable. Growth isn't always visible to us, but it is happening as long as we are following the process in a healthy and positive manner.
There are a variety of meditation practices in existence, so I like to take the time to explain the specific practices I engage in, along with the techniques I teach at corporate events. The practices I describe are secular in nature, though they may have roots in Eastern traditions, and their purpose is to:
- Reduce stress, anxiety, and tension
- Minimize negative thoughts
- Raise levels of self‐awareness
- Increase awareness of unconscious biases
- Develop positive perspectives
- Improve the ability to focus
- Boost productivity levels
- Improve relationships
- Develop personal positive traits
