In addition to Survival mode and Creative mode, Minecraft offers other means for you to experience the game the way you want. You can play in Hardcore mode for an intense survival challenge or play in Adventure mode for a more progressive gameplay style that includes custom maps built by other players. You can also use various means of customizing your multiplayer server. This chapter orients you to all these possibilities.
Surviving Hardcore Mode
When you open the world-creation screen, one difficulty setting for a new world is Hardcore mode, as shown in Figure 10-1.
