Basic Redstone

In this chapter, you will learn the very basics of redstone, such as power and knowing what can be controlled by redstone. If you’ve played Minecraft before and have a fairly good knowledge of redstone and how to use it, then feel free to skim through this chapter.

Redstone is rather like wires in electronics. It is the thing that allows blocks that control power (buttons, pressure plates, tripwires, and levers) to communicate with blocks that do something with the power, like torches, lamps, and pistons. By combining these blocks and linking them up with redstone, you can create complex contraptions.
