Modding with Forge
Minecraft is a very rich game, with many different types of block to play with. However, inevitably whatever is provided is still not enough for some people. This desire to do more with Minecraft has led to a whole community of “mods” like ComputerCraft and qCraft. While these are both examples of large-scale mods that involved a great deal of work to bring them to fruition, it is perfectly possible to make your own simple mods, in the form of different block types, or modifying existing blocks and items.
Indeed, if you take to Java, and have the time, you can create great mods for the Minecraft community to share.
