Adding Metadata to Blocks

The basic structure of a metadata block is very similar to that of a normal block. Because of this, the Sam’s Stone created in Hour 9 will be changed in such a way that the first metadata is an ore and the second is a decorative block. The ore will be added to the world generation in Hour 13, “Generating Ores.”

One very important thing to note when working with metadata is that every metadata of the same block will have the same material. Therefore, it could be important to plan which blocks will be grouped up in metadata. Thankfully, the decorative metadata block also has to be stone, so both can be in the same metadata block.
