Other strategies connected with diminishing the impact of waste disposal on the environ-
ment are based on changing the conditions inside the waste mass from anaerobic to aerobic.
It changes the composition of the emitted gas and leachate, making them less dangerous for
the environment. Aerobic conditions can be maintained throughout the whole landfill life
(aerobic bioreactor landfill) or only in the phase ending with methanogenesis, in order to
accelerate waste stabilization. Maintaining aerobic conditions which are artificially produced
is very expensive, and therefore, these methods are not often used. A partial solution to the
