bic conditions. The off-gas is extracted by suction lances and more extracted air is sucked out
than fresh air was injected (Spillmann, 2001). The extraction capacity is of 30% higher than
gas volumes used for aeration. The off-gases are usually treated by biofiltration (Biopuster,
MBU). The concept may be used both for the fresh and old waste stabilization but it is mainly
associated with the implementation of landfill mining projects (Ritzkowski & Stegmann,
2012). The scheme of BIOPUSTER® system is presented in the Figure 4.4. The system
