Stereo Enhancements
During the discussion of panning in Section 8.2, I argued that stereo width is far more important to many mainstream productions than exact stereo positioning, a view that is borne out by the enormous variety of tricks audio engineers have come up with to adjust image spread. This chapter details a selection of these techniques in order to clarify each method's benefits and drawbacks.
