In music, the concept of dynamics refers to the difference between loud and soft. These differences propel the music. They provide tension, impact and release, reflection, melancholy or calm before the storm. At concerts, dynamics play a huge role, whether it’s dance or classical music. This is only possible because the circumstances lend themselves to it. It’s pretty quiet in a concert hall.
