the EPC handles the control plane information required to manage the mobility of the mobile
devices while enabling virtually seamless user plane connectivity. Within the EPC, generic rout-
ing entities handle the ow of user plane trac between the mobile device and a PDN. e use
of generic routing entities, with well-dened and specied protocol interfaces, is a step toward
