State-Space Based DFIG Wind Energy System Modeling
Abstract
In this chapter, we model a Type-3 wind farm connected with a series-compensated transmission line to a grid. The system model in the synchronous rotating reference frame is built block-by-block, including the doubly fed induction generator block and the transmission line block. How to interconnect these two dynamic model blocks is explained in this chapter. This system model can be used for nonlinear time-domain simulation as well as small-signal analysis. The model is used to identify subsynchronous resonance and the influencing factors, such as wind speed, controller parameters, and series-compensation degree.
