Multi-Machine Modeling and Inter-Area Oscillation Damping
Abstract
In this chapter, we develop the dynamic model for a multi-machine power system including a Type-3 wind farm. Given the DFIG modeling block that has been developed in Chapter 3, the interfacing modeling technique that interconnect the DFIG model with the rest if the system model is described. The developed model can be used for analysis of system level dynamic phenomena, for example, inter-area oscillations. The application example presented in this chapter is a control design example for inter-area oscillation damping.
