In this chapter, the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method is applied to
model one-dimensional shallow water ow in nonrectangular, nonpris-
matic channels. The governing equations for one-dimensional shallow
water ows in natural channels are rst discussed. Then, the discontinu-
ous Galerkin method is applied to solve these equations.
