transactions, make a return to the Secretary of the Treasury.
Regulations prescribed that this return be on IRS Form 8300
and led within 15 days of the date of the transaction.
Notice the difference in terms used: §6050I uses “return,”
whereas the BSA forms are “reports.” That’s because
§6050I is a tax statute. The difference is important because
of the condentiality of tax returns, including 8300 forms.
