Set yourself a goal
First off, give yourself a pat on the back. If you’re ready to seriously begin saving for a new car, home, holiday or wedding, it means you must be in control of your finances. So you must be financially savvy and the envy of your debt-ridden friends.
That said, if you do still have credit card debt or a personal loan, it may well be worth paying this off before you start to save: there’s no point paying sky-high interest on debt if you can pay it off early and begin saving that extra cash.
