
Limping to launch
Getting to the starting line
After our big road trip, we did plenty of promotion. Back in London,
we met most of the investors we intended to meet before our expected
launch. We still had the follow-up process and plenty of second meetings
lined up, but we were nervous. There were not many more meetings in
which someone could pull a $10 million cheque out of a hat and save
the day. It was now late August 2002 and, after a slight delay in our FSA
application, we knew our launch was highly likely to be 1 November.
Time to start closing deals and locking in capital. We were lucky that the
