Chapter 1. Introduction to MongoDB

In this book, you will learn how to develop Java applications using the MongoDB database, which is an open source document-oriented database, recognized as a rising star in the NoSQL world. In a nutshell, MongoDB is a document database, which allows data to persist in a nested state, and importantly, it can query that nested data in an ad hoc fashion.
