Understanding secondary characters

We are going to design a reading comprehension and writing activity. Students are going to read the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This play is a tragedy due to the mistake of a secondary character—the Friar who has the idea to prepare the magic poison to put Juliet to sleep for 42 hours, but miscarries the message to Romeo. Students are going to imagine that they are the Friar and they have to change the advice. What advice would the students give to Juliet when she asks for help if they were in the Friar's shoes?
