Leadership and Governance: The Obligations of Stewardship

Leaders guide organizations in the pursuit of shared goals within a constantly changing global environment. Implicit within that governance role is a complex set of ethical obligations, responsibilities, and duties that are owed to each of the stakeholders that have an interest in the organization. Leaders earn the trust of these stakeholders by recognizing, honoring, and balancing the sometimes conflicting goals and priorities of these stakeholders.1
