The Business Data Catalog allows you to create a seamless experience for your users by making information that previously required a custom solution now accessible through Web Parts, Search, and SharePoint lists. In summary:

  • The first step in setting up the BDC is building the application definition file. This can either be done by a developer or by using a third-party tool.
