CHAPTER NINE

HOW DO I BEST TAKE, SHARE, MANAGE, AND PLAY VIDEO?

In this chapter:

  • Shooting and Saving a Video
  • Sharing Videos
  • Getting Flash
  • Watching a Video
  • Video Chatting with Google Talk
  • Using Movie Studio

You can use your Motorola Xoom's two cameras to capture live video. You will likely use the rear-facing camera to record events you want to save, post to YouTube, and share with friends, and the front-facing camera to hold a live video chat between you and a contact using Google Talk. However, it is certainly possible to record with the front camera, if that's what you want to do. After you record video, you can use the Gallery to view it and the Movie Studio app to edit it.

In addition to the video camera and editing features, you can also rent, purchase, copy, and sync, or otherwise obtain movies to watch on your Xoom. You can play compatible videos you copy from your computer in the Gallery app, where you can sort the media by pictures and videos, only pictures, or only video to make locating that media easier. The professional movies you (legally) rent or purchase likely play using the Flash Player over the Internet.
