Implementing Operations Strategy

Most strategy fails at execution. Companies spend untold hours and several days off-site developing business and operations strategy, only to have the results languish on a shelf until the next planning cycle, usually a year away. Why don’t they implement the great ideas and initiatives they spent so much time developing? In some cases it is a lack of initiative and follow-through, and in others a lack of accountability and discipline. In still others, they may not have the necessary talent or resources. Finally, it may come down to fear of change.
