One of the important new features of the MPEG-4 Audio standard [MPEG4-3] is that it provides error-robustness tools that allow improved performance on error-prone transmission channels. These tools comprise the following:
Error-resilience coding tools for some natural speech and natural audio codecs,
Error-resilient (reordered) bitstream payload syntax,
An error-protection tool, and
Error-concealment tools (informative).
