Chapter 6: Applications of MCDM sorting
Abstract
This chapter describes the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) integrated with Multi-criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) sorting methods to real-world problems. Therefore, the decision problems will be solved by integrating GIS and sorting methods for the geographical visualization of categories in environmental, risk, security, waste disposal, safety, solar farms, photovoltaic systems, economic attractiveness, and marginalization problems. For each application the basic information is described, including criteria, alternatives, categories, profiles of the decision problem (when available), and the GIS tool used for result visualization.
