Trees: Skills and Understanding Essential for Domestication: An Update

Abstract

The domestication strategy and vegetative propagation techniques used for agroforestry trees have been widely adopted by researchers and practitioners around the world. It is now possible to identify some key principles for successful rooting of leafy stem cuttings to resolve the problems of difficult-to-propagate species. Key to this has been the greatly improved understanding of the importance of the management of stockplants, and especially their light/nutrient environment.
