an FS can also be congured for: (1) single-homing, i.e., FS provides only one IP
address to support handover; or (2) dual-homing, i.e., FS allows more than one (usu-
ally two) IP addresses to support handover. Note that almost all servers in the current
Internet are congured with only one IP address. The vertical handover procedures
of the single-homing and dual-homing congurations consist of three basic steps: (1)
Add IP address; (2) Vertical handover triggering; and 3) Delete IP address. For de-
tailed handover procedures of both single-homing and multihoming congurations,
please refer to Ma et al. 2004.
