Abstract
In a world flooded with information and with an ever-increasing demand for multilingual communication, professionals working with multilingual information play an important role in meeting the requirements of the business community, while they must also face the challenges posed by a global and technology-based society. This chapter introduces the key elements surrounding this professional practice in the search of an information competence that can help filtering and using information and resources in a critical, strategic and cutting-edge manner.
