Abstract:
This chapter focuses on international views regarding principles of Library Science and Documentation. The aim is to indicate the theoretical and practical stance of MIR within LIS, and in so doing outline the general aspects of the more advanced theories of IR, revolutionized by the prospect of the new information processing system. Referring to an epistemological framing of MIR, this chapter tries to indicate and develop the new and revolutionary, not to say pragmatic and dynamic, vision for the content-based treatment of information.
