Learning Note Names

It is important for every computer musician to learn the names of the various notes in the pitch register as early as possible. If you don’t know these names, it is more difficult to understand, retain, and utilize the complex information about scales, chords, keys, modes, and so on that will follow. The information in Chapter 2, “The Notes,” will help you learn these note names.
