Restarting Your iPhone

Restarting an iPhone is similar to rebooting a computer. Restarting essentially clears out the iPhone's memory and allows it to start all over again. To restart an iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for approximately 10 seconds. The red arrow slider may appear at the top of the screen, but you can ignore it.

  2. When the Apple logo appears in the middle of the screen, release the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button.
