Setting a Passcode

To set a passcode, you must choose a four-digit number that will be easy for you to remember but difficult for someone else to guess. For example, a passcode of 1234 might be easy to remember, but it's also way too easy for someone to guess.

Ideally, choose a four-digit number that means something to you and that no one else will know about. For example, use the first four numbers of your Social Security number or the year that your favorite sports team last won a major championship (such as 1997).

When you've decided on a four-digit passcode, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings. The Settings screen appears.

  2. Tap General. The General screen appears.
