Enabling Silent and Airplane Mode

Your phone has two special modes that you’ll occasionally find useful: silent mode and airplane mode. Enable silent mode when your phone must remain quiet, such as when you’re in a meeting or a place of worship. Enable airplane mode during flights to quickly make your phone compliant with government and airline regulations.

Silent Mode

In silent mode, all sounds except media playback and alarms are disabled. Incoming calls can optionally be signaled by vibration.

1. To enable Silent mode, do one of the following:
