Transferring Files over USB

Using the USB cable provided with your phone, you can connect the phone to a PC or Mac and freely copy files in either direction. The following steps temporarily turn your phone into the equivalent of a flash drive. (Note that if you’re a Mac user, you must first download and install a free Mac application found at www.android.com/filetransfer.)

USB Transfers to and from a Mac

1. Using the phone’s USB cable, connect the phone and the Mac.

2. Open the Notifications panel. In the Ongoing section, it should say Connected as a Camera. If it says Connected as a Media Device, tap the entry and select Camera (PTP) in the screen that appears.
