Configuration documentation tools are not often thought of as “monitoring” tools per se; however, it's essential that you capture the configuration details of the system being tested, so you can track how future tests (executed perhaps months later) vary and how the system's performance changes over time. For only a select few of my customers, changes to their systems are rare; they remain largely static month after month.
